The First Look is becoming increasingly popular in weddings every year.
I am a huge fan of first looks…..Now. But last year I wasn’t. I guess I was a tradition type of guy. I didn’t want my couples seeing each other before the ceremony. Now I stand here a changed man. A man that is here to convince the couples who are considering first look; to do a first look.
It is by far, the best decision you will ever make. It is a moment that you will look back on and remember forever.
One of the biggest advantages is you get to capture an intimate moment alone.
I have talked to some brides before their wedding day and they felt it was better to see each other before the wedding to get all the jitters out the way. Let me be a little blunt here: you invite 150 people to a wedding, and the first time you will see him, is when you are walking down the aisle. Check this out: You are at the venue; your heart is pounding as you walk outside and head towards your groom. His back is turned and from a distance you can see him standing there anxiously waiting on you. He cannot stand still. You can feel is demeanor getting stronger and stronger as you get closer and closer. You walk up to him and tap him on his shoulder. His face lights up as he turns around to witness the best image he has ever seen.
What bride wouldn’t love that?
You are also able to do all of your photo and video capturing before the fun begins. There is no better feeling that knowing you have gotten the absolute best out of your vendors. A first look makes everything so much easier. I can say from a wedding videography point of view, it allows me to get some of the best shots because we are not rushing in a hour after the ceremony to get one on one shots. Anything could happen when trying to cram family photos and your photos in one hour. Getting all of your photos and videos out of the way, will take some stress off of you. The lighting is normally the best when a first look occurs. I know I may be selfish, but hey, you hire wedding photographers and wedding videographers to create the best images. I am telling you first hand, a first look will give you some of the best images. Trust me, I wouldn’t lie!
