From the Outside Looking In

From the Outside Looking In, it is such a magical thing to share in one of the most intimate and special days in a couple’s relationship. On a wedding day, feelings become almost these visible beings – so much more than just letters on a page or words in the air.

Devotion is visible as the bride and groom grasp hands and take their places beside one another, preparing to face life in much the same way: unified and supported. Joy is a special guest that mingles among the others who share in the joining of the two families. Sorrow received an invitation but only stayed long enough to see a daddy give away his little girl; then gave his seat to the Happiness trio who reveled in the addition of a son, the creation of a new family, and the expansion of the existing family – they say good things come in threes. Adoration takes center stage in every meaningful look and whispered word the couple exchange; each one pushing the outside world further away, as the couple enjoys the private bubble that is the first dance. Excitement soon cuts in as loved ones rush the floor to dance the night away.

Such celebration! As though a birth were being attended instead of a wedding. Yet the two events have so many parallels: the beginning of new life, two have joined to bring one new being into existence, the growth of a family, the power to bring two families together, and most importantly, the increase of love.

And all this time love has been the kindly observer; patiently at work weaving each participant and guest deeper into the heart of the next until all are intertwined, and all that is visible is love!

The lens can do funny things to one’s vision: creating things that are not there or magnifying things that are. Working behind the lens has allowed me the opportunity to see without being seen, capture moments that are often fleeting, and has perhaps lent me an extra layer of sight where the invisible is visible. Such is the magic of the camera and of film, and this is what Intellect Media seeks to display in every work that is created…living emotions!-Amber Foreman
