Well, not on September 15. Unfortunately, the Hampton Roads area was under a serve hurricane watch, so all weddings in the area were cancelled. The hurricane never came and a lot of the beautiful Hampton Roads couples had to reschedule. David & Indigo were fortunate enough to be married the following Sunday on September 23rd. And what a wedding it was!
I believe the extra week allowed everybody the time to plan and bring their A game. The wedding was nothing short of breath taking. Fun fact: the wedding day was the first day I had ever met David & Indigo. We were a late addition.
It is nothing new that a wedding videographer is one of the last vendors to be added to the wedding day. I am fully aware a wedding videographer is still a luxury. As a wedding videographer, I believe that is one thing we all have to accept. David & Indigo did not book us until two weeks before the wedding date. I am always nervous when I enter the bride’s suite, and I have not established a connection with the bride.
Indigo was different. Her welcoming spirit made us feel like we had known her for years. She was a light and anyone who is around her takes on that light. David was so inviting. Constantly checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. It is very easy to forget about your wedding videographer. I almost forgot about mine on my wedding day. It isn’t something that should be taken personal.
David and Indigo were married on the campus of Hampton University, where they met. They spared no expense. Instead of having the charter buses that brought the guests to the chapel, take them back to the Historic Post Office, they rented a yacht. The surprise yacht took guests across the Hampton River. It was a magical moment! I would recommend you see for yourself!
